Can WordPress 2.7 Equal the Legendary John Coltrane?
I waited a couple of days before installing WordPress 2.7 just to make sure there weren’t any horrible bugs left in it after all the beta testing. Today I dove right and used the WordPress Automatic Upgrade plugin to facilitate the upgrade. I must confess it went off without a hitch…except:
- If you are using “Lighter Menus” plugin – disable BEFORE you do the upgrade or you will not be able to see the WordPress navigation on the left side of your dashboard (it took me nearly an hour to solve the case of the missing navigation).
- If you have already upgraded and are experiencing difficulties with missing navigation you can manually remove the “Lighter Menus” plugin by visiting yourdomain/wp-admin/plugins.php then deactivate the plugin. After this the menu will magically appear right before your eyes. Since you won’t be needing this plugin, I would just delete it.
- If you have the “WP-Sticky” plugin installed you will need to delete this plug and reinstall it with the version 1.40
- If you have installed the “WordPress Automatic Upgrade” you will no longer need this as WordPress 2.7 has an Upgrade feature included.

I love the flexibility and look of the new dashboard and the entire admin. It is nice to be able to customize something I use everyday to my liking. If you haven’t had a chance to take a look at the new features click here to take a look at the WordPress Blog: WordPress 2.7 “Coltrane”
As if the software wasn’t cool enough they name it after a legend American Jazz Saxophonist, composer and Special Citation winner from the Pulitzer Prize Board Mr. John Coltrane. He wasn’t just any musician he was a pioneer who strove for excellence, diversity and vision his entire career despite his being a black man in a largely white man’s world (at the time of his musicianship). He had his skeleton’s but I see why WordPress chose him as the namesake for their new release.
I don’t know if 2.7 equals the legendary status of John Coltrane but give WordPress 2.7 a try I think you will LOVE it
If I can do it! You can do it too! Celebrating Texas country living, down home cooking, family life, figuring stuff out and being a stay-at-home moxie mom computer geek.

Ahah! So that’s where my navigation has gone to. I reinstalled the thing twice trying to find it.
Thank you!
you must change commentformid from “comment-form” to “commentform” in wp thread comment setting.
