Country Living

You just never know what I’ll be up to around here. I could be quilting one day and building a barn the next. I just love living on our 10 acres with our heapin’ mess of critters.

Down Home Cooking

Cooking is really the first social networking activity humans ever learned. I love simple, good tasting, home cooked food (if it’s healthy that’s a perk!). Pull up a stool to the counter and sip some coffee while we whip up some supper together.

Family Life

Family is what life is all about. No one is going to leave this earth and wish they had spent more time at work. Some simple things to enhance your family life. “Try it, you’ll like it.”

The Moxie Mom

One of the joys of my life is getting to be a stay-at-home mom. I am so blessed to have a husband who supports me in this endeavor of raising our children. We have fun with homeschooling, 4-H, church, our farm/ranch/zoo and love living in Texas.

How to Add A WordPress Self-Hosted Blog to YouTube

Submitted by Wendy Merritt on Tuesday, 2 December 200811 Comments

I spent way too much time today working on this little item so I thought I would share the directions with you so you can keep some of your hair intact. This is how you can add a WordPress.org self-hosted blog to your YouTube account (this is for a self-hosted wordpress.org account). I found a hundred different directions of how to do this in the WordPress Forums but this is what worked for me. I am currently running WordPress 2.6.5.

YouTube Blog Setup

Login to your YouTube account; go to Account -> Blog Setup -> Add a Blog

Enter/Select,

  • Blog Service: WordPress Self-Hosted
  • UserName: username for your WordPress self-hosted login (e.g. admin)
  • Password: password for your WordPress self-hosted login
  • API URL: http://yourblog.com/xmlrpc.php (i.e. this URL is pointing to the xmlrpc.php file in your blog’s directory)
  • API Key: leave blank (you only need this if using a WordPress.com account)
  • Click Add Blog
  • Done! Your self-hosted WordPress blog has now been added to your YouTube account.

Blog Post Your YouTube Video

To add a YouTube video to your blog,

  • Select a video
  • Click on the Share link just under the video
  • Click on Post to a Blog
  • Select your Blog from the drop down menu
  • Change the title if desired, add some text if you’d like
  • Click Post to Blog
  • Done! This YouTube video will appear shortly on your Blog.

Remember it takes a few minutes for the blog to post to your WordPress account so be a little patient…have a cup of coffee while you wait :)
