WordPress 2.7 Will Be Great When All the Plugins Update
I upgraded to WordPress 2.7 about four days after it came out. What I saw I liked until I realized half my plugins were not compatible…or was it my layout?
….duh, duh, duh, duhhhh…the case of the dastardly white page
Here were my findings:
1. I could not publish a new blog post. When you clicked on publish you got the kiss of death “white page”(to new bloggers this is the equivalent of thinking you have that one last scoop of icecream left in the freezer…only to find out someone ate it).
2. Half of my plugins are not compatible with the new version. Developers have not had enough time to get their codes fixed for the new version.
3. I LOVE the customizable dashboard and blog writing page. It is nice to feel like you get to create your own workspace.
I tried to fix this by:
* Emptying my temporary internet files, cache and cookies as I thought it might be something stuck in my computer – a glitch.
* I tried another computer in the house. No such luck.
* I changed my theme to the WordPress default theme. Nada.
* I tried to deactivate my plugins one at a time looking for the culprit (this was like trying to find that one light bulb that has burnt out in a string of Christmas lights…LOL).
In the end, after two days of headaches, I had to revert back to WordPress 2.6.5 until another day. I hope developers hurry this process along
I love my plugins.
If your blog updated successfully…I hope you enjoy it! I will be standing in line waiting for my turn.

I saw your site listed on the Arthemia Premium comment page for thumbnails.
I’ve been debating buying Arthemia or another premium theme, but the thumbnails are kind of scaring me off. The theme I’m using right now is free and took a lot of work to get everything right that I’ve gotten right — and I still have a ways to go!
You’re absolutely right about the plugins being a problem.
I’ve had to deactivate and re-activate a bunch of times. For adding images I had to de-install the Amazon plugin.
Hang in there!
