I think they actually heard us! This is definitely put together with the end user in mind. If you are new to WordPress or stretch yourself trying new things with your WordPress blog you will love this new website. I think they have outdone themselves with this fantastic help file layout.Okay, let me ask you a question:
or
Would you rather read a giant 500 page book on how to do something new?
Yes, that is a real question. 95% of the population is going to answer that…duh, I would want to watch a video. If I was going to read it would only to be absorb the next Twilight novel. However, there are some of us die-hards that enjoy a good instruction manual from time to time (this is my kind of people…LOL).
So, you ask, what is this new WordPress.tv thing? WordPress.tv is an online video instruction manual. They have done a fabulous job of keeping the layout simple, understandable and very user friendly. You will see they have a section for WordCampTV, How-To, Blog and Contact. On the homepage they have included the Latest Videos, Latest WordCamp Videos and Popular Videos. If you just want to know what’s hot right now you have it right at your fingertips.
If you know of a great WordPress video or maybe you created a great video tutorial for your YouTube, Viddler, Veoh or other video account there is no better way then to get the word out here. You can suggest it here. Just visit the Contact page and recommend a WordPress related video. Who knows you could be the next WordPress guru. Your name could be in lights at the next blogging convention…okay, I’m getting ahead of myself.
Each video page has a description, date published, tags, categories, comment box and other related videos. If you didn’t find what you were looking for on this video just check out one of the other related videos. This is a great feature of WordPress.tv so you can always find what you need when you need it.
I believe all-in-all this was a brilliant move on the part of WordPress to assist users. I for one am heading there right now to see what they have about widgets.
